Vector & Bitmap Graphics
Bitmap images are made up of a lot of different pixels to make an image. Once you resize a Bitmap image it either increases or decreases the quality of the image. Each pixel contains the colour or the information about the colour. A small picture can be made up of hundreds or even thousands of pixels.
Vector images are made up of lines, curves and shapes etc, the good thing about vector graphics is resizing, for example you can make a vector graphic larger or smaller and still have good quality on the image. When vector graphics are saved onto the computer it saves information the way image was drawn not how it is seen.
Bitmap Graphics
· Small file size
· You can edit the bitmap graphics to different colours etc to make it look better.
· Printing may lose some quality of the image.
Limitations of Bitmap Graphics
Bitmap graphics haven’t got good quality once you resize or zoom into the image as once you zoom in you start to see a lot of pixels which makes the image difficult to see.
Vector Graphics
· Small file size
· Vector shapes, curves and lines can be easily edited
Limitations of Vector Graphics
When you create a new vector image, making one consists of a lot of time and effort, once it is created you can display it with all programs.
