Photoshop Tools And Functions

Photoshop Tools & Functions

·          There is allot of key tools and functions in Photoshop, here is an image of a list of the main tools that be used for creating different images or editing them etc.

·         Here is a few examples of the tools and what they do.

The Move Tool

·         In contrast to the Hand Tool, the Move Tool actually moves your image relative to your canvas. By using this tool, you can move around selected areas in your image, or even move entire layers without affecting other layers. Using the Move Tool requires a simple click and drag method.

The Magic Wand

·         The Magic Wand is another important Selection tool. By clicking on a sample, it automatically selects all the pixels with identical or similar colors. Most Photoshop beginners fall into the trap of relying on the Magic Wand for “magical” results, but note that this is not always effective. The Magic Wand is not always accurate, and its selections never precise. However, this tool is always handy when there are clear distinctions between pixel colors.

Sumo Paint Tools & Functions

Sumo paint is quite similar to Photoshop and some of its tools and functions do the exact same things, here are a few examples of the tools and functions.
                                                                   Text Tool

The Text tool can be used for labels.  The size and colour are set in the properties bar: After selecting the properties mouse click the location desired for the text.  A text rectangle outlined in blue appears, click inside that to enter text.  The text rectangle can be dragged to the desired location. Click the Text tool icon to complete the creation of the label.
 Line Tool                                                                                                                            Curve Tool

The Line tool and the Curved line can be used to draw straight and curved lines.  First select the tool. The thickness of the line can be set by typing a number in the Diameter box: The colour for the line is selected by clicking in the Colour Picker palette in the right side column.  The selected colour is displayed at the bottom of the tool palette.   The opacity property is a quick way to change a black line to grey.  The other properties don’t visibly change the display of small diameter lines.
